Over the last decade, Viborg has won a reputation as one of Denmark’s leading cities for sports. The women’s handball team won the EHF Champions League in both 2009 and 2010 and continues to be one of Europe’s top-5 clubs.
In 2012 it was named the best place for sports and young people in Denmark. Viborg has several educational institutions, including an international school and the Animation Workshop, where students can acquire a Bachelor of Arts in character animation.
